Norma Vavolizza founded NV Communications as a highly personal agency known for developing and maintaining strong, one-to-one relationships with our clients and the audiences they serve. At the core of her business philosophy is respect for people as well as their mission and goals.
Norma began her career in magazine publishing with McGraw Hill. Later she spent several years in the not-for-profit sector where she honed her communication skills in fundraising, media relations, and public policy.
Over the years, Norma has guided NV Communications into various business sectors, including the needs of Spanish-speaking audiences. Industries we know well include travel/entertainment, hospitality/gaming, publishing, conferences and events, and food. Our not-for-profit experience includes development and media relations for secular and faith-based institutions that operate locally and globally.
Norma is active in professional, community, and civic affairs, and volunteers her time as a communications consultant. She is a board member of the Fordham College Alumni Association and Thorpe Family Residence. She is also a long-time member of the Collegiate Chorale. Norma holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fordham University and a master’s degree in public affairs from The George Washington University.
Bill Schulkin is Creative Director at NV Communications. Bill has hands-on responsibility for translating your marketing objectives into a creative strategy that reaches audiences with an integrated, brand-consistent approach.
Before joining NV Communications, Bill was President of KSL Sports where he developed all facets of product production: product patent, manufacturing, packaging, promotion, publicity and sales. Bill is also the inventor of “Hot Hand,” a highly successful sports glove. In addition, he worked with product spokespeople, including Dr. J. Erving, and contracted partners for the NBA and the NCAA.
Bill has extensive experience in the food service industry. He was co-founder of The Food Group and later Sirey, Schulkin Inc., award winning marketing agencies. His creative direction launched memorable campaigns for companies such as Sweet‘N Low, Nabisco and Thomas’s English Muffins as well as many local and regional brands.
Bill holds a B.S. Degree in Business and Public Administration from Temple University, and an MAB in Marketing and Business Administration from Baruch School of Business.
